This was a commissioned work made in 2016, for an avid cosplay fan who wanted to look like the Pokemon “Deoxys”. I took the sketch that the customer prepared, along with some choice stock images of the character, and set to work. Using Kydex-T, a heat-formable thermoplastic, I fashioned a head piece that concealed the face but was still open enough to be breathable. The chest piece included a magnetic snap that fastened to the fabric of the costume which was being prepared by the customer. The shoulder pieces were given adhesive Velcro strips that would be applied to the fabric costume as well.
